Robert, aren't you ignoring some recent results of commercial toppers against IMs and GMs, e.g. Rebel - Yusupov, Hiarcs - Hergot, MChess - some Italian IM, and may be more. It seems to me that this is an indication that (some) PC programs are in fact approaching GM level.
