I don't think it's only a publicity stunt but of course Chessbase is using the opportunity to market computer chess to a world wide audience who - without this match - never would have known about the fascination of our hobby at all. There are a lot of folks out there who never heard a word about computer chess and it's possibilites before. Due to press coverage of the match, I guess more interest will be induced then before. And that's good for all of us. There's no reason why computer chess should not go public! Andreas
