I think that it is unclear if f3 is better or worse. f3 is better from Deep Fritz's point of view after a deep search but it does not prove that f3 is better and it is possible that a program with different evaluation and/or different extensions can find different results. We do not know the number of moves to mate after f3 and after gxf4 so we cannot know if f3 or gxf4 is better if the target is to lose as slowly as possible against the best moves. A possible way to try to get a good guess about it is to play 2 correspondence games between Deep Fritz and itself(or maybe the king and itself because the king is known to be better in finding mates) when the first game begins with f3 and the second game begins with gxf4 and to see which move is losing more slowly I do not think that it is important to know it.
