I tried the pgroup compiler for a 15 day evaluation period.
(Just send them a  mail and they will give you a trial license)

I noticed that in floating point calculations it produced better code
but when using integer I did not mannage to make it perform better then
the pentium optimized egcs compiler. (www.goof.com)

So crafty ran with the same performance as with gcc.

But there are alot of compiler switches to the pgroup compiler so
it would be interesting if with the right switches it would
outperform gcc or not.
(I just did not have the time to play enough with it)
