there is a playoff... and it happens at the WCCC which is an *open*
event.  the WMCCC is restricted to uniprocessor microcomputer systems
that can be brought to the site.  At the WCCC, anything goes, from a
PC to a Cray.  And everyone is invited.  Generally, the WCCC is a
much stronger event because of this, although the last one was won by
Fritz on a PC.  But the mainframe machines still can't be touched
on speed...
