Well you are correct except that if I do that then Shredder thinks it is now Fritz 7 ! I don't understand why Chessbase did this. I am supposed to have two different programs. In fact if I right click on the icon and click properties it has the correct path to the correct ChessProgram7. Each one is in it's own directory so why is it when I select an engine/book in say Fritz 7 and then startup Shredder 6 it is now running that engine/book. In other words it's as if I only have one program. If they were going to do that then why didn't they just install the second program as an engine/book and leave just one GUI on the computer? Effectively I have two programs but only one is functional. I prefer to have one icon say Fritz 7 and have Fritz 7 show up when I click on it and the same for Shredder 6. Jim
