I tried this recently (using node counts) and didn't find it to be an improvement. Currently I use: 1. pv from last iteration 2. 2 "killers" - with a somewhat peculiar meaning at ply 0: these are the most recent non-pv moves that have had scores > alpha. Meaning, they were at one point the best move, even if the last iteration didn't ultimately select them. 3. Apparently winning captures/promotions (from SEE). 4. Rest of moves. --Jon
