It is intresting for another reason also.

If I can make a program which has an SSDF ELO of 2600 on a 1MHz machine, what
ELO will it have on a 10GHz machine?

I might want to hike to the top of Mount Rainier (14,409 feet, 4,392 meter
mountain in Washington State) and when I get there, I might want to play a game
of chess right on the summit. Wouldn't it be fun to say, "I played an
exhilliarating game of chess on the peak of Mount Rainier!"

Now, I would not want to lug a generator, a computer, a monitor, a keyboard, and
a mouse up there. I would not even want to bring a laptop. But a 4 ounce unit
I can carry in my pocket -- why not?

Of course, "interesting" is in the eye of the beholder. What is interesting to
me may be dull to everyone else.
