Well, I'm a bit confused indeed, but I checked my email box and I still have the message you sent me: first you need version 2.03, this is not the cd version but an extra version that was once on the oxford softworks web site. check your about box if it is 2.03. if not - let me know. copy chess.sty into your datafile directory. start cstal. now the new style gets automatically loaded. you can rename the old style in chess.def before you copy new style in datafile. the style changes styling a little and mainly knocks off nullmove search. you will see this in the inner eye where NS (nullmovesearch) has no values anymore. the branching factor and the tree grow a little. overall cstal researches more ideas in the tree. normally nullmove search would have cut away those important creative ideas. the style should produce better results with black, especially better results overall on fast hardware 40/120 games. So it's a style for CS Tal II apparently.
