People are going to start getting annoyed with me that I brought this up. But I
think that this deserves bringing up.

There are a couple of ways we can govern ourselves. One simple way would be to
elect moderators now and again and let them do as they see fit. Another way is
to devise a framework of rules, then elector moderators now and again who will
do as they see fit, but will try to keep the framework of rules in mind.

I'm wondering which we need here. In another response, Will Singleton appears
to be arguing for the first of these approaches. This approach hadn't really
occurred to me until I saw that post, but I figure it might be what a lot of
people want.

I'm wondering if we need to do something more complicated, more like this second
mechanism.

I think that what you are doing is suggesting the beginnings of such a
framework, although I don't agree with all of your points.

Perhaps there is room for a more affirmative framework. Rather than specifying
only what they can't do, perhaps tell people what they can do.

Personally I'd like to see a few rules like for instance that you won't get your
account nuked for things you say outside CCC.
