I hope PF is not the reason for the short battery >life on ipaqs. The HPs have had better battery life than the iPAQs, from what I've read. And the slower CPU in your model helps too. In theory at least, running any app that uses the CPU 100% of the time should run out the battery at the same rate (i.e., whether it's Chess Genius or Pocket Fritz, if either is continuously analyzing), everything else (e.g., backlight) being the same.
