Fernando's initial post was not asking Ed's permission to play Rebel (9 or 10). He explicitely requested a pre released version of Rebel 10. He of course said he would pay for it or return it. Ed replied that it wasn't quite ready, use Rebel 9, or wait till Rebel 10 is ready and play it to your heart's content against who ever you want. This was my initial understanding of what transpired between Fernando and Ed. Then I started reading comments like: - Ed continues to remain silent - Ed doesn't want to play against Morovic - Only an idiot would not play a GM (corrected original by including the word, not). - we've heard from Ed, he refuses to play. (at least this is half accurate) I began to wonder if I read Fernando's and Ed's original posts correctly. Went back, reread them, thinking that maybe I had entered the twilight zone but nothing had changed. Doesn't sound to me that Ed was silent, nor did he refuse Fernando the opportunity to play Morovic using the only available version of the latest Rebel. Just can't figure out where the spin doctoring is coming from. As posted previously I am looking forward to watching Morovic play a computer opponent, especially at the 40/2 control. As it turns out it looks as Fernando has given Ferret that honor. I'm sure it will be a hard fought match. I'll guess 3.5 - 2.5 for GM Morovic.
