In older tests, I had good results of the first windows version of Virtual
Chess, better than those of Virtual II. These were between Genius 3 / Shredder
2, and Genius 5 / Shredder 3, in total. I calculated 2570 on PII/333 MHz.
Virtual Chess f.W. showed a balanced performance in tactics, positional play and
endgame. Virtual II solved fewer positions (20) than the previous version (25)
in my old test. My estimation was 65 points less than V.f.W.

It is a french program © by Titus company (mainly known for various other
computer games, like "Titus the Fox" :o)). Programmers are Baudot / Weill. I
don't think it's still available somewhere.

There was a Nintendo 64 version btw., which was awfully weak and buggy. Not
recommended. But the PC versions, except the very first one for DOS, were
strong.
