In "Computer Chess II" by David Welsh and Boris Baczynskj (Wm. C. Brown Publishers, 1985), pp. 66-67, it is briefly described PAWNKING, a program developed by Helmut Horacek at the Vienna University (it was a result of a research about pattern recognition). It was able to play any kind of pawn endgame. Does anybody have more information about it? I know that it is an old book, but I still hope somebody can help. Thanks in advance.
