You wouldn't begin to believe how many people believe a P4 is faster because it runs 800 MHz higher than Athlon, AMD had to soften that effect by the renaming scheme. Also it took years for AMD to get rid of their bad rep with the K5, you don't just change your image over night. Intel is still making good money on the principle "we're the biggest, so we must be the best", logic - no? Also a lot of vendors took a long time to come out with athlon boards and AMD rigs, whether it was because of the old bad rep or because of pressure from Intel I can't say, but I'm pretty sure Intel did what they felt they had to do... With the Athlon Intel was left behind, only just recently have they cought up with the P4, yet they still hold the largest market share, why is that? Because of BS!, what else? I don't think people deliberately goes out and byes a more exspensive inferior chip. With the Hammer AMD is finally competing on the server market, that's where the real money is. So the war is not over yet, it is just beginning ;) -S.
