No they are not competing with DB 1997.

Kramnik could beat Junior with no problems.
Kramnik also had the white pieces but it is clear that kramnik is a favourite to
win the match(even without getting the program before the game so the only
reason to give kramnik the program before the match is to do the match
uninteresting.

Junior-Kasparov is more interesting.

The fact that kramnik did not try to win is an excellent result for the deep
Fritz team.
