What? Republicans don't play chess? I don't think so!

As to you being forced to read about our problems daily -- I don't think so
either. Your
paper may publish those stories, but you are not obligated to read them. Nor
were
you obligated to read a post on CCC who's title clearly indicated it would
probably
offend you. One of the STRENGTHS of American democracy is that we are willing
to air our dirty laundry, the better to encourage our leaders to keep clean.
Sometimes,
it is rather more dirty than we'd like, but then it's all the more important to
get it clean,
rather than let the smell build in the dark dank hamper.

You don't like American politics? Fine! You've a mouse, you've a remote control,
you can turn the page of your paper. Nobody can make you listen or watch. Nor
should you attempt to inhibit free speech based on your parochial ideas of
taste.
