Dr Scheme is actually a good one. I use it for developement. But while not slow,
it is not about speed. It is geared towards learning Scheme. With all the
language levels and such. MzScheme is the sharp version. Scheme-to-C compilers
do the speed bit. Chicken, BigLoo and Stalin are some heavy hitters there.
