With CM8000 I had the same problem with thematic sounds not working with XP. John Merlino checked everything out but we were unable to fix it... including uninstall and re-install. However, the CM9000 thematic sounds are fine and nothing was changed on my XP system. So the problem had to be within CM8000. In my opinion there are enough interesting features and strength improvement in CM9000 to warrant its purchase. Steve
