17...Rae8? has to be criticized. It is like resigning. 17...Rab8 is a practical
chance. It seems to me that Kasparovs response would have been 18.Rhe1! with big
advantage.
However, after 18.Nxe5 Nxe5 19.Qxe5 Qa4 black has some chances for a draw.
