That is right. The players *should* play for themselves. Key word there being
PLAY. They move pieces around for 20 moves, wait for the opponent to make a
mistake, and if no mistake is made, let's avoid having to do any real work and
agree to a draw. That's one way to efficiently send chess into the toilet.
