Subject: 64-bit computing? (slightly OT)

just curious: does anyone know when the first 64-bit PCs for the average
consumers are expected to be available? i know that there are already
itanium2-based HP machines with a pre-version of 64-bit windows available, but
these are hardly meant for home use...
