Thanks everyone for the responses. The problems seems to be in the cable that connects the sensory board to the module drawer. Right now I have it working sort of OK - I can open and close the drawer as much as I like once I turn the module off first. If the module is turned on when the drawer is opened/closed, the machine still crashes. So I just have to press 'stop' before closing the drawer. A temporary fix at least - although I would guess the problem will get worse again later... I tried contacting classic chess and games as one person suggested - but they have not responded to my e-mail. Also, I tried contacting Saitek (as they now market the exclusive board). Strangely, when I send a message to chessinfo@saitek.com, through the *US* site for Saitek, the message gets forwarded to someone in the UK. He responds quickly to my inquiry, but does not know that I am not in the UK! They offered to repair the board for 55 UK pounds, but when they found out I was in the U.S., suggested I contact support here. Someone needs to fix the Saitek U.S. site so that inquiries sent there reach someone in the U.S., or a least when forwarding to the UK, let them know where the original message came from.... Anyway, as the board is sort of working now, I will wait a while before seeking repairs. When that time comes I will probably just contact Schach Niggemann... Peter.
