Go up one level in this thread
Sounds like a load of hogwash. All of the Deep Junior engines WILL run on a single processor machine. Check out this articles at Chessbase: http://www.chessbase.com/support/support.asp?pid=269 In particular: "One tech support note before I let you go for another week. If you're running the Deep Junior engines on a multi-processor machine, you'll want to check one of the specific "Engine options" to make sure it's set properly. Hit F3 to bring up the engine selection window. Choose a Deep Junior engine and click the "Engine parameters" button. Make sure the "Number of threads" setting reflects the number of processors on your machine (for example, if you have a dual-processor computer, set this value to "2"). Click the "Save" button to return to the engine selection dialogue. Then click "OK" and you're all set." Note the "If" at the beginning of the second sentence. The fact that one has to specifically tell the program to how many processors you have, and the fact that there is nothing on their web page which says you MUST have a multiprocessor machine shows this guy is just blowing smoke to avoid their obligation.
