Chris your few quick comments were rather "vicious" and lacked "civility" in their own right (surprisingly to me - I held you in higher regard prior to that post). To summarize your post: 1. You got a free engine to evaluate -- most of us do not get free commerical engines. 2, You said it "sucks big time" -- did you ever go back to the author with your feedback prior to posting here - is that civilized? CP by the way has the best user support of any commercial engine by the way. You catch a bug and you get feedback and fixes -- sometimes within hours - try that with Chessbase. To say it "sucks big time" is expected from a troll - not somebody who holds themselves out to be a "revieiwer". BTW, The word "sucks" ,although not a curse word, is offensive to many people and is not one normally used unless the author is purposely trying to be "vicious" and "offensive". I purposely used it in my reply to you to show the impact it has the reader. Obviously you did not like it - which was my point - it's not really a word to use --period. I think if your original post was little more civilized and stuck to the facts, it would have been better recieved. You did not really explain why you thought it "sucks" - other than stating all the things it was lacking in comparision to CM6K. The CM series - almost always have more goodies that many people - espeically beginners (like yourself) enjoy and it almost always a lot different that other chess programs. Richard Pilj put it best ,"Sounds like a vegetarian reviewing a grill restaurant. " . In hindsight your were the wrong person to send DS 1.5 to review. Once you realized that, you should have politely returned the software to CP and told them that you may be the wrong person to perform a review and kept your comments to yourself. That would been the civilized thing to do. Best, Michael >I knew this message forum had a lot of >"hard core" chess hackers.
