Have any chess programmers here read Dan Heisman's "Elements of Positional Evaluation - How Chess Pieces Get Their Power"? I believe that in the preface he says "The theory should provide new insights into chess annotation, teaching, and quiescent position evaluation for chess computer algorithms." I don't know if any chess programmers have found it useful.
