One way to moly coat the barrel (I think) is to put some Slick 50 down the
barrel. I heard this done many times with air guns, just not centerfire rifles.
I wouldn't see why it would hurt though, probably create a nice coating and when
you run a patch down it'd probably help get the gunk out easier as well as
provide a bit better accuracy & more fps.

All he did was swab the barrel w/ Slick 50 (first spraying it down with WD 40 to
eat away at the gunk) and fire off a couple of rounds to 'activate it' and make
the moly coating. Supposedly the guy got his Super Max 1000 (1000 fps airgun) up
to ~1200fps or so by doing this, and reported the supersonic 'crack' of the
pellet after firing.
