Hi Uri I know chess egines that have special code to solve mates will solve the mates in short order in their mate finder mode. And Chest specializes in mates. Its great that Chest or an engine with a mate finder can solve a mate in 4 on a 3 Ghz machine in 0.00000001 seconds but thats not the point. Some engines with or without null move solve these mates very quickly, others take a relativly long time. A program that take a long time one one problem solves the next quickly and visa-versa. I'm not picking on any particular program. Bill
