Mega has 50,000 annotated games, Big has no annotated games.

No; with "Fritz" they mean "the Fritz GUI". As Shredder comes with a Fritz GUI
it will give you access to any chessbase database.

It's up to you if you think the 50,000 annotated games are worth while. Some
people complain that the quality of annotation varies a bit too much.
And if you only use the database for reference (opening search, game position
search etc.) Big is more than enoguh. YMMV.
