I can't guess the cause, unless it's your firewall or anti-virus. Does it work
OK if you leave them turned off? My other notion would be to temporarily turn
off everything in msconfig startup to see if something in there is interfering.

Thanks to F. Huber, there's another way to startup the Fritz 8 software that
bypasses that dual option startup box. I use it because I seldom goto the
server, only for updates, and want to select the other option 99% of the time.
It requires downloading a special utility at:
http://fs.dontexist.com/
Download, unzip, and read the readme file for further instructions. Possibly
this will provide a workaround for your special problem.
