Well put!
"Punching bag" I suppose would mean what you feel gives you most something to
aim for, and you feel you COULD be getting somewhere when you really try hard.
Also perhaps a feeling of mutuality.

"Novel ideas", well, are they things which really work? If so, it must be a
terriffic engine.

Esoteric? What does THAT mean? Does that engine have ANOTHER aspect of human
style/knowledge which all others don't have? unclear positions?
