I think this should migrate from a public discussion to a private one.

Licensing fees are not being managed or collected down at the 'user level'. The
world is not going to have to send me $1 a year to play a Gothic Chess engine.

Since it is covered by a patent, it cannot be given away for free, even if made
by somebody else.

Anyone who is interested in implementing a software game to play Gothic Chess
should send an email to GothicChessInfo@aol.com.

Licenses have been issued to people in 5 countries so far, so I do not
understand the resistance.
