Ok, maybe for the others this is more readable: Round 1: A good start. Against Junior, the engine of Amir Ban and Shay Bushinsky (improved version of the world championship engine of 2002) which is superior at least on the paper and even can count on 8 times faster hardware, Jonny got a drawn position without any problems and even chances for more. But today all the top engines had a hard day: Shredder had to give its best against Crafty to get the draw and also Fritz could only share one point with Deep Sjeng. Round 2: It continues well: against The Crazy Bishop (author Remi Coulom) Jonny could win a pawn in the middlegame, after TCB chose some unfortunate squares for its figures (13. Be1?!, 23. Qa2?!); the conversion to a win would have been far more difficult if white wouldn't have forced the endgame with (43.Qf4+?). All in all a neat game from Jonny. Round 3: Jonny surprised me again with a draw against the current computer world champion Shredder from Stefan Meyer-Kahlen, which, like Junior, had a clear hardware advantage (4x Opteron 2.0 Ghz). To be fair one has to admit that Jonny was lucky in this game. For a long time it looked like Shredder could win the knight andgame, but in a quick analysis we could not find a win. After 39....Nd1+ 40. Kc2 the position looks draw, because white surprisingly can hold the following endgame: 40....Na3+ 41. Kb3 ba4:+ 42. Ka3: Kd3: 43. Ka4: Ke3 44. f4 Kf3 45. f5! h5 (45.... Kg2?? 46. g4 h6 47. h4 here white can win!) 46. Kb5 Kg2 47. Kc5 Kh2: 48. Kd5 Kg3: 49. Ke6 h4 50. Kf6: (=). Really bad luck for Franz Morsch and Fritz in this round: at move 60. Fritz missed the time control in a better position. Johannes Zwanzger
