I built my own book (1000% better than the default book, rated in the GUI at 2780 instead of 2550) and I have done it all by playing anyone at any time. In fact the other night the #2 player was on (cchess(C)), wanted to play a series of 30 3 games and he played around 8 or so. I came out of it +2 =5 -1: 61: + 2676 W 2491 Hera [ sr 15 3] A77 Mat Thu Jul 15, 07:25 PDT 2004 62: + 2684 B 2487 Hera [ sr 15 3] B45 Mat Thu Jul 15, 07:51 PDT 2004 63: + 2699 W 2669 cchess [ sr 30 3] E05 Res Fri Jul 16, 04:24 PDT 2004 64: = 2698 B 2670 cchess [ sr 30 3] B33 Agr Fri Jul 16, 05:21 PDT 2004 65: = 2697 W 2671 cchess [ sr 30 3] D20 Rep Fri Jul 16, 06:11 PDT 2004 66: = 2696 B 2672 cchess [ sr 30 3] B33 Rep Fri Jul 16, 06:45 PDT 2004 67: + 2708 W 2665 cchess [ sr 30 3] C43 Res Fri Jul 16, 07:03 PDT 2004 68: - 2694 B 2674 cchess [ sr 30 3] B33 Mat Fri Jul 16, 08:06 PDT 2004 69: = 2693 W 2674 cchess [ sr 30 3] B22 Rep Fri Jul 16, 08:39 PDT 2004 70: = 2692 B 2674 cchess [ sr 30 3] B97 NM Fri Jul 16, 09:37 PDT 2004 It was #1 vs #2. cchess is a Shredder 8 bot on a AthlonXP @ 2200 MHz. Hera is Rebel 12.00.01 on a P4 3.0Ghz system. You don't have to cheat to attain a high rating, you just have to work harder than installing a cdrom. :) Peter
