There is no solution to the problem of people who care how high their rating is
but I do not see why it means that computers do not play computers.

The opposite.
It may be better to beat some stupid program when you have some killer line
against it and not to play human who is less predictable.


If people care how high their rating they may have 2 computer accounts and care
that account A always beat account B.

Unfortunately people cheat and not only weak players.

I know that in the chessbase server tamir navati(second place in Israel under 14
in tournament time control games with rating of 2043) cared about inflating his
rating in the chessbase server by registering in 2 names when one name always
beated the second name(he was also stupid enough to have one name as tamirn and
another name as tamirn2).

It was discovered in april in this year and you can see evidence for it in the

He was banned from the chessbase server but cheaters will always continue to
cheat.

I do not care about rating in the internet because I assume that in big part of
the cases rating is achieved by cheating.
