can you make another test and try the DEFAULT rebel under the same conditions ?
rebel.eng like ed advises.

i guess without any style a fail safe version is used. could be possible that it
plays stronger then default rebel (rebel.eng) or any other engine.

the default style should get good results against other programs, but fail
against s8.
