Hi Ian,
yes i can confirm that in time the lcd pieces will become second nature to you
i have had the SS sinse it was released and after a few short games i got used
to them

this is not to say that i think the lcd pieces are great to look at,hardly,just
that after awhile one becomes accustomed to them

my biggest gripe with the SS has always been the anemic battery life(8-10 hrs)
and that dang phillips screw in the battery compartment cover.
why Novag did not make a "snap-on" battery cover,especially with such a short
battery life is beyond me

the newly released Star Ruby has the same lcd pieces and a MUCH longer battery
life(50-60hrs)

of course for the lower price(about $100 lower) you get a weaker program and
less features
