Steve Many thanks for your response to my concern - good to hear what I had hoped for. I must say that immediately I unpacked the unit I was very surprised to see a screw down battery compartment. I supposed that this may indicate infrequent need to open this up ;-) I will robably leave the cover off and keep the unit in its 'leather' case which will secure the cells. I am baffled that Novag did not adopt better icons - in fact on some websites advertising the unit there are images with 'real' chess type icons - these are of course totally misleading and did not fool even me. I got some 750 maH AAA NimH cells for it - will see how they go. I take it from your response that apart from these points, you are happy with the unit ? Regards IanR
