Sounds like fun to me. But, I have a suggestion. Make it 9 round ddr and 10 0
as you have suggested. But, do it over 2 days. That way nobody stays up ALL
night. Each day would last less than 3 hours. If it were to start at 5am PST
and end at 8am PST, I think that would 4 pm to 7 pm Israel time. This should
also be a reasonable time for the Aussies as well????
With a much shorter time each day, it could be scheduled to be reasonable
for all. Since, there aren't any chess program authors in Hawaii (that I am
aware of) and the Pacific ocean is so wide, we have a nice buffer zone of
several hours.
We could still have commentary, but just on one or two games per round. Many
have speculated that blitz is what it will take to make chess a bigger spectator
event. And spectators like commentary.
