HI Dick i own both Mirages(Black and Marble) both still work just fine. the black one i purchased brand new for $200 when it was first released in 1997 and the Marble i won on Ebay about 2 years ago cost me $75 plus shipping of course at these current prices its a bit rediculous to get one and like all Robots i have heard of Mirages breaking but i know of collectors who have defective Fidelity Phantoms(even one with a defective 6126),MB GM'S and Novag Robots the nice thing about the Mirage is it actually works on batteries as well but the life is only about 8 hours the Mirage contains the same Ron Nelson program seen in the Grandmaster and both are rated about 1850 Elo if you like Chess playing Robots my Friend the Mirage is a MUST they were the last Robots ever released for sale to the public and perhaps the last to be released for a long time to come as such they are historical in terms of collecting while Excalibur did have plans to make another new one ,it has been scrapped i am not so big on reviews for chess playing computers as a collector if i only bought computers that received raved reviews i would only own 4 computer's by now,not over 400 :)) Best Steve
