I believe after 15...Nc4 instead of 15...Be6 Black has already equalized, and the position is safe enough to play against a computer. The mistakes were made later on, and it is not guaranteed that he wouldn't make them if he had chosen another opening move. After all 1...e5 is his "pet" opening.
