Insults? Which insults? You mean as such my description of tigh lips and the rest? That is not an insult in MY dictinary. Dictionaries are not enough: you need something more. So, based in your reading of dictionary, you say I sinsult you and from that you say I am losing the discussion. Well Man, in my dictionar and my mind this is not a discussion, to begin with. This is a cultural clash between a man from India and another from Chile, two distant universes, about the nature of jokes and isults. Certainly it is for me clear now that you have there, assuming you represent average indian culture, a very differen conception of jokes, insulting and so on that mine. From my point of view your are extremely delicate and gives importance to something it has none for me; from your point of view, I am insensitive, tasteless, etc. Who is right? Believe it or not, I gave a thought to this. I searched if by chance I had been really too rude. So my "truth character", whatever you try to mean with that expression, is not in any case what you like to think it is. I hope you could do the same, though as much you think you are in the righteous position from the beginning, I think you will not bother to do it. In my case, after thourought examination, I found that my joke was not beyond what we use to do here when someone stumble in any thing short of really hurt his person, spiritually or phisically. But, OK, If you think otherwise and have a more sensitive skin, then , what can I say or do? This issue goes beyond a matter of individual aperception and behaviour. Respect your example of the thief, again you fall, I am afraid, in a logic trap, the so called petition of principle phallacy. A thief is a thief, caught or not, right, but look at this: you are already calling and defining him as thief from the beginning of the arument. You goe in circles. In my case, I say that the joke is not back stabbing because there are not the conditions to make of it such a thing. Using your analogy, the thief is not a thief if he does not take something from a third perdons. This is a matter of facts and not of sylogism that fly around the same point. Well, that's enough respect the discussion. In a personal area, It is not my intention to hurt you and in any case if you felt so after my previous post, I am sorry. I even can concur with you that my joke was not that funny, its main sin, but take into account my arguments with cold objetivity and dismiss the idea of an ugly stabbing and all that. My best fernando
