that is not quite correct. Well, SMIRF is full compatible. But it will not
expire. A normal user simply will need an access key then.

No author has ever contacted me to also use that GUI or the (free) TMCI
protocol. Thus there it still is not yet supported to switch activated engines.
But that of course could be changed, if a serious interest would be stated.

I am against freeware, but instead I am for free interfaces, standards and a
free exchange of programs and tools between productive chess programmers when
both sides are interested.
