I didn't criticise that SMK wrote such a code for ChessBase, while you claim that he wrote it for his SHREDDER, but I criticised that he, as a worker for ChessBase (NB he created the FRITZ for kids!), wrote such a code at all! This SHREDDER FEN, as far as I could understand it, is confusing for people who want to use the chess positions as such, no matter from which beginning they came. Take for instance the Morphy games, but also Steinitz games, with the odds of a pawn, a Knight or a move plus a pawn! Already for those games ChessBase couldn't find a decent solution as you know, these games are presented with a P in front as if they were positions in the listings. And nothing is coded in the header. I proposed that all chessgames should be presentable and the different beginnings should be coded in the header. But ChessBase has no interest and /or intellectual capacities to do the necessary more of work. And the solution of Mayer K. is no good.
