that's from an online program pairing RR for 12 players.

each round has two double colors from the previous round.

So _if_ they used such a pairing scheme, it could have worked out as it
happened.  Maybe more information will come from some of the participants when
they log on here.  But based on the published rules, it was to be paired as a
Swiss, which makes all this moot and impossible...
