That the title has value seems pretty obvious from their failure to write a single word on the event, when in past years they have provided detailed, round-by-round coverage. It's also pretty obvious from the way they market their own products. I just pulled my Shredder 8 box off the shelf. On the front it says "Double World Champion 2003". On the back, it goes into much more detail: "For computer chess experts Shredder is the number one choice. Nobody can ignore its amazing five computer chess world championship titles, won at Jakarta 1996, Paderborn 1999, London 2000, Maastricht 2001, and Graz 2003. So in this box you have the reigning double world champion 2003, ready to play and analyze with you." They even repeat this list at the bottom of the box cover, just in case you missed it at the top. -Peter
