You like to put always all aspects (ie strength, collectability etc) in one melting pot and to apply certain rules to all of it. If Chess Cards are non-collectable then using them in a process together with collectable items, for whatever purpose, is not what you want (if I understand it right). I in contrast am used to analyse things, that is to subdivide them into constituent parts and to consider them one for one. Measuring of the performance (not that important with repect to dedicated units in my eyes btw) can be trated differently for me than collecting itself. >last Year at Kaufbereun there was some discussion to bring a Human Fide Master >into the competiton > >myself and other collectors cried out against it and thankfully the idea was >scraped Well it depends what Kaufbeuren means or should mean. If we say that it is a tournament for dedicated computers (and have defined what a dedicated computer is) then it’s obvious that a participation of a human doesn’t fit the definition well... ;) >its really the same story for me > >just as i object to play against PC's(or chess cards) i object to play against >modified computers >and i do not collect them >i can easily afford a modified V11 and i have 6 Elite A/g's boards i could >contribute to have its guts ripped out for the modification > >simply not interested in it I see you have certain rules. :) But for a discussion of the definition of what a ‘dedicated chess computer’ is, we rather should perhaps open a new thread, I think... (or not) ;) What is a True Dedicated Schachcomputer Regards, Martin > > >Stay the True Course.. >Steve
