Supposedly Microsoft was going to prevent an operating system from being ported
to the X Box, but something I recently read on one of the rumor sites indicated
this was something which could easliy be defeated and they expected enterprising
developers to create an entire cottage industry for the 360. Keep in mind, the
current X Box is based on a Pentium III computer system complete with pc
graphics card. That's why the darn thing is so big. It has a hard drive and
could be converted into a pc, except interest in Pentium III's is rather
minimal. For dedicated use for gaming, it's fine, but for computing it wouldn't
cut it.
