One thing that has been overlooked or at least not mentioned here is the fact that Rybka's problems begin about 2/3 of the way thru the middle game, not just strictly 5 and 6 man endgames or so. Tablebases will most likely help some, but that last 3rd of the middle game is the kicker. I have seen it blow too many good positions BEFORE it gets to the endgame. It is not going to survive with the elite in long matches over the long haul without some drastic changes being made. The program has some problems- however strong it may seem.
