Re: the comment about IPV6 and getting rid of anonymity, I believe that anonymity is a good thing. It allows abuse, but there are better ways of fighting abuse than helping create an online police state. Not to turn this into a big Freedom of Speech topic or anything, but there are far simpler approaches. Participation in a group could require you to voluntarily provide a verifiable, "real" email address, one that is not a free web-based one or other easily bogus address. This would be revealed to the moderators in exchange for group participation. The moderators could of course leak the real identity to other people, but this is the potential price of admission. That's simple and fair. No need to police the entire Internet for the sake of voluntary discussion groups. Everyone is free to decide whether they value their anonymity more than participating in CCC or any other group. But to deny the ability to be anonymous anywhere online is way too much and can just as easily lead to different kinds of abuse. Don't let the bad apples cloud your judgment. :)
